The Shell StartUp Engine is a global innovation programme for early to mid-stage energy startups looking to develop their capabilities and power business growth within the smart energy landscape.
Zeigo has been selected to join a group of 30 clean energy startups likely to help the UK transition to green power and improve access to energy. The 12-month programme provides access to high-quality mentors, potential investors and business partners and a supportive start-up community.
Juan Pablo Cerda, founder and CEO of Zeigo comments “We are thrilled to join the programme and benefit from Shell’s 38-year legacy of supporting entrepreneurs. It’s very uplifting to gain recognition as one of leading UK startups powering the future of smart energy. This will help Zeigo to enhance its capabilities and reach.”
The UK pilot is run in conjunction with The Unreasonable Group, which runs multiple accelerator/business mentorship programs for growth-stage social entrepreneurs. The programme is built on Unreasonable’s strengths, experience and expertise in curating ecosystems of support for entrepreneurs solving some of the world’s most intractable social and environmental challenges. They do this by forging partnerships with multinationals and large foundations to host highly immersive programmes that catalyse and scale entrepreneurial solutions globally.
Shell StartUp Engine UK is part of Shell UK’s larger portfolio of socially conscious, innovation-oriented programs. It complements Shell’s wider efforts on building an entrepreneurial ecosystem locally and globally.
