Zeigo, the London-based tech company that connects energy buyers with clean energy generators, has been nominated for another prestigious sustainability award – its second industry nod in less than a year.

The company was a finalist for Innovation Of The Year at the Business Green Leader Awards in June and has since been nominated for a 2019 Business Green Technology Award, with winners to be announced in December.

Recognition from the renewables industry caps off an exceptional 12-months that saw Zeigo launch its innovative online platform, join a leading sustainable ventures accelerator, consolidate business divisions and branding, secure key partnerships, and win new large corporate clients.

Founded in 2018, Zeigo connects corporate energy buyers with renewable energy projects, using data to cut through the complexities of clean power procurement and help companies find the best zero-carbon match for their energy consumption profile.

Over the past year its unique, data-driven approach has helped the company secure partnerships with leading renewables consultancy Cornwall Insight, market intelligence company Aurora Energy Research, and global tech-sector law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP). Zeigo joined London’s Sustainable Accelerator programme in April.

“Zeigo’s disruptive platform empowers corporate energy buyers to strengthen their position at the negotiating table and better understand the economics of Power Purchase Agreements,” said Mateusz Wronski, head of product development for Aurora Research.

“The corporate market for renewables has been crying out for streamlined contracting models and a more efficient way of connecting buyers and generators,” said BCLP Environment and Infrastructure Senior Associate, Simon Buchler. We are thrilled to be working with Zeigo to make this a reality.”

“2019 has been a brilliant year for Zeigo where we’ve progressed rapidly from concept to market entry and now industry recognition,” said Juan-Pablo Cerda, Zeigo’s founder and CEO. “Next year will see us cross other crucial milestones as we continue to disrupt clean energy procurement, prepare for more growth, and advance our mission of accelerating the shift to renewables.”
